Growing Taller Secrets – Height Increase After Puberty
Growing Taller Secrets – Height Increase After Puberty
Is height increase after puberty possible?
We are asked this question very often at TheHeightist. It appears that the issue of height increase vexes people who’ve crossed puberty the most, if the queries we get are any indicator.
Before we get into the details, let us give you a one word answer to the above question: yes. Height increase is very much possible after puberty, provided you know what you are doing.
We’ve seen countless cases reported to us by readers along with our own personal experience that clearly show that height increase after puberty is as possible as, say, getting your teeth whitened or losing weight. Of course, height increase takes a lot more effort than these two examples.
First of all, let’s talk about what puberty exactly is. Puberty is the stage of accelerated growth witnessed during the age of 12-18. During this period, your voice grows heavier, your sexual organs mature, your musculature develops, and you essentially become a man/woman from a boy/girl. In terms of hormonal constitution, this is a period of intense changes. Frequently, teenagers going through puberty become moody, aggressive, or engage in unusual behavior courtesy of the tremendous hormone cocktail brewing inside their bodies.
You also gain the bulk of your height during this period. While the growth of your muscle and other ‘adult’ features such as beards, breasts (in women), etc. is more or less regulated, your height increases in spurts of growth. Often, teenagers who are short until late puberty experience a growth spurt and grow by several inches in a span of a few months. Predicting height, therefore, can be fraught with risk.
According to traditional views, after puberty, the growth plates at the ends of our bones that are responsible for growth fuse together, making further growth impossible. This belief was built up several decades ago around the middle of the 20th century. Some exciting new research, however, proves that height increase is possible after puberty too since the previously held belief that the growth plates fuse together is not altogether true. It is claimed, in fact, that within a decade, we might have a simple medicine that will help increase height by several inches, much like any weight loss pill.
At present, however, it has been concluded that the only way to grow taller is through a proper exercise and diet regimen. Exercise is essentially body modification. Carried on continuously over an extended period of time, exercise will impact your growth. The exact inches that you can gain will depend on multiple factors such as your age, gender, genetics, etc., but it is very much possible to grow anything from 1-4 inches through exercise alone. The cases we’ve seen and our own experience is at least an indication of this.
At TheHeightist, the only program we can bring ourselves to endorse is Grow Taller 4 Idiots. We’ve reviewed, tried, and tested a multitude of height increase programs, but only Grow Taller 4 Idiots could clear our quality tests, and we say so in our Editor’s notes sprinkled throughout the site that will hopefully help you make the right decision when it comes to height increase.
